I am a pastel painter. I chose this medium because of its immediacy and lightness. Pastel allows you freedom to build a richness of color in a single sitting that I did not find in any other kind of painting. It is the purest pigment in a soft medium that can still give you hard edges while maintaining its beautiful fluidity of expression.

Where the Heart Is
"Where the Heart Is" (9" x 12)
I painted this image, which I had been coveting, at the home of one of my artist friends, Jeannie. I love this picture and just had to have it. I think it's perfect for Valentine's Day!!
