I am a pastel painter. I chose this medium because of its immediacy and lightness. Pastel allows you freedom to build a richness of color in a single sitting that I did not find in any other kind of painting. It is the purest pigment in a soft medium that can still give you hard edges while maintaining its beautiful fluidity of expression.

Daisy
"Daisy" (9" x 12")
I painted this portrait for my niece, Lucy. Sadly, it is in memoriam as Daisy passed away from cancer a few weeks ago. She was a sweet kitty and greatly loved.
