I am a pastel painter. I chose this medium because of its immediacy and lightness. Pastel allows you freedom to build a richness of color in a single sitting that I did not find in any other kind of painting. It is the purest pigment in a soft medium that can still give you hard edges while maintaining its beautiful fluidity of expression.

Evening Falls on the Estuary
"Evening Falls on the Estuary" (5" x 7")
Love the twilight tints on the marshes. That time just before it's too dark to make distinctions of color and shapes.
