I am a pastel painter. I chose this medium because of its immediacy and lightness. Pastel allows you freedom to build a richness of color in a single sitting that I did not find in any other kind of painting. It is the purest pigment in a soft medium that can still give you hard edges while maintaining its beautiful fluidity of expression.

Here is a another installment to my tree frog series. Now I know where Spielburg got the inspiration for E. T. The colors and textures are fun and these little fellows are just cute.
I am a big frog fan. What is it about them? Somehow they're both comical and dignified - wonderful creatures, and soooo cute! I love your colors here and the texture, wow! Your work never fails to impress me. ♥
Thank you so much Karen. I agree there is something about these little guys that is just too appealing. I rarely get to use my pastels full strength so it was an added bonus to get to grab my bright greens and oranges and purples and paint this guy! Thanks again!!!
