Grace in the Tall Grass 12" x 16" |
I am a pastel painter. I chose this medium because of its immediacy and lightness. Pastel allows you freedom to build a richness of color in a single sitting that I did not find in any other kind of painting. It is the purest pigment in a soft medium that can still give you hard edges while maintaining its beautiful fluidity of expression.

Hi Jill, I really like the way your hunter is somewhat hidden in the grass, a subtle surprise and nice composition. Do you like being an artist on Cape Cod? We visit there at times and I love all the great galleries in Provincetown. Ps thank you for your nice comment as well:)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your comment. Yes, I do enjoy painting here on the Cape, especially since water usually figures largely in my pieces. I have been going around to galleries just to see what's out there. There are some good ones in Orleans and Chatham as well. I love the fun places in Provincetown too. We took my son up there over Christmas. It was so beautiful with no people on the beach and a little snow, Thanks again for your kind words.
