I am a pastel painter. I chose this medium because of its immediacy and lightness. Pastel allows you freedom to build a richness of color in a single sitting that I did not find in any other kind of painting. It is the purest pigment in a soft medium that can still give you hard edges while maintaining its beautiful fluidity of expression.

Early Morning Fishing

Caught this water bird fishing one morning and the rising sun brought out all the colors in the marsh grass.
