Clouds always seem surreal to me hanging out over the ocean like they've been painted there. These lovely ones where out over Cisco Beach on Nantucket last summer.

This is a view of Paine's Creek in Brewster. I was challenged to capture the reflection of clouds in the tidal pool, but still be able to see the bottom where the sand was sculptured by the wind and water.

I love to find pastures with ponds. There is always such a variety of flowering water plants and field flowers. Lots of frogs and wildlife too.

Another gray and wintery day here even Spring begins this week. Everyone is mad at the poor groundhog who predicted an end to winter.  So I went a bit mad with color. It was so much fun.

This painting is of a portion of Rock Harbor in Orleans about midsummer. I am always struck by how the sea makes these lovely inroads through the beaches to fill the salt marshes with life.

This painting is referenced from a photo of the Great Marsh in Barnstable. It was a beautiful October day and the color was clear and bright. I loved the little splash of red at the bottom. A nice surprise.
