My daughter had to have some surgery so I have not been posting these last couple of weeks. So diving back in I am starting with an Easter painting. It's that time of year when magical things happen. New leaves appear on trees, beautiful blooms are everywhere and the air is full of promise (and pollen). While out walking I almost tripped over this little guy. A rare find.....an actual Easter Bunny Nest. I've never seen one before as they are very shy and tend to disappear if they hear you coming. Lucky I had my camera. Happy Easter Everyone!!

This is my challenge entry for our Daily Paintworks weekly challenge. You can see the original photo below. The challenge is to use the photo image and interpret it in your own way. I wanted the horse to be up close and more of a focal point. After I finished I thought what a great place to have breakfast every morning and there was my title.

Comb Over

Another offering to my rooster series. I was really taken with the brown/purple coloring in his feathers and his absolute refusal to look at me. He had this "Yes, I am beautiful" attitude.

Every animal has it's own special texture and characteristics. Roosters have more than their fair share of both. White animals particularly seem to pick up the colors of everything around them or the sunlight brings out the colors inherent in their fur or feathers. This guy just begged to be painted. All right, he probably could have cared less, but I loved him.
